Frequently Asked Questions
Permanent Makeup
Microblading is a form of cosmetic tattooing. We place cosmetic tattoo ink into the top layer of the skin to create a fuller more defined eyebrow.
Those who have little to no brow hair or those who are looking for a better shaped and/or more defined brow. Each client’s needs are different.
Not everyone qualifies for permanent brow services. Click the button at the bottom of the FAQ section to fill out the general forms for permanent brow services to see if you qualify. A virtual or in-person consultation will be conducted once the forms are filled out and submitted.
Each client’s results are unique to their body chemistry and other external factors. Things such as unprotected sun exposure, salt water, sweat, exfoliating ingredients in acne/anti-aging skin care products, hormones etc. will all play a part in how long your brows/lips will last and how well the color maintains its appearance. Generally speaking: most clients will need a touch up annually.
An in-person consultation will need to be done before we can determine if we will be able to work with the brow work you’ve already had done. Some work may need to be lightened with sessions of removal by a removal technician. Some work can be covered so long as it is light enough. Fill out the general forms for brow/lip services by clicking the link at the bottom of this page and then schedule an in-person consultation ($50 fee) to see if you’re a good candidate.
It takes roughly 14 days for microblading/permanent makeup to heal. There is a process of healing that causes the brows & lips to shift from darker to lighter before they show their true healed tone. This is normal! The skin is healing over the pigment. Patience is key with the healing process. Once it is fully healed the true pigment will show around 4-6 weeks. Then we will be able to do your 6-8 week touch up session to add to any pigment that was lost during the healing process and add more pigment if you desire a darker result. We will always err on the side of caution with your first appointment; less is more! You can always add more pigment but you can’t take it away without professional removal.
We always block a minimum of 3 hours for all brow and lip services. It is a very tedious process that requires a lot of time and skill. We ask that you plan for a free day in case the appointment takes a little longer than expected. Also be sure to eat a meal and drink plenty of water prior to your appointment to keep your blood sugar up and to alleviate any physical discomfort during the procedure so that you can relax as much as possible.
The pigment is implanted in the top layer of the skin. It is considered permanent, but the pigment is not implanted as deep as a traditional tattoo – therefore it will fade over time and require touch-ups.
We ask that you refrain from using ANY makeup on the eyebrow/lip area until they are fully healed: at least 14 days out from your service when all the dry skin from the healing process has shed from the brow area. You can wear makeup elsewhere on the face but you can NOT contaminate the brow or lip area as you will risk infection and risk that the brows or lips will not retaining proper pigment. Experienced brow technicians can immediately tell at a follow up appointments whether or not the aftercare guidelines have been followed. If more work is required at the complimentary touch-up 6-8 week post procedure, we will need to charge for the extra work that is needed.
Absolutely! Though we do try to encourage the client to choose a shape that best fits their facial and bone structure in the brow area, ultimately we will not proceed unless both the client and the technician agree on the shape. Lips are always shaped with a colored pencil first to give an idea of the final shape. Both the client and technician will approve shape before starting the procedure. The technician does reserve the right to refuse the procedure if the shape that the client requests is not suitable for their face and will reflect poorly on the reputation of the business.
Remember: you and your beautiful face are our walking, breathing business card. We want nothing but the best for you!
Immediately after the procedure, your eyebrows/lips will be approximately 30-50% darker than they will actually appear after healing. They will continue to look a bit darker in those first few days as they start the healing process. There is always a slight risk of minor swelling/bruising directly after the procedure but this is incredibly rare. This is why it is key to follow all the prep instructions we give you when booking to avoid things that can induce swelling and bruising.
Unfortunately no, we do not allow guests in the facility for treatments. The space is small and we like to keep the environment calm and relaxing. We ask that all clients come alone to any of their appointments.

– Picking, peeling, touching or scratching of the micropigmented area to avoid scarring of the area or removal of the pigment, except for when rinsing and applying the post-care ointment with a cotton swab
– Performing tasks related to gardening or heavy household cleaning such as garage or basement cleaning where there is a lot of airborne dust/ debris
– Drinking alcohol in excess, as it may lead to slow healing of wounds; drink lots of water instead!
– Driving in open-air vehicles such as convertibles, boats, bicycles or motorcycles

Permanent Makeup after care is very important to the appearance and longevity of your your procedure!
Every 2 hours, wipe the lips with medium-firm pressure with a moistened (NOT dripping wet) cotton pad (use only bottled or filtered water) Followed by a thin rice grain size bead of post care ointment that has been provided to you. if you happen to misplace your post care ointment, regular Aquaphor will work, so long as it is new and has not been contaminated by prior use. Remove Aquaphor from tube or container with a new, clean q-tip each time you use it. Only use the Aquaphor for the treatment area no other use.
IMPORTANT REMINDERS
CHANGE YOUR PILLOW CASE! Keep a clean pillow case for the next week by changing it often.
Use a straw to drink beverages!
Avoid spicy or acidic foods.
If lips become contaminated by unclean hands, items, pets etc. wash gently with un-scented antibacterial soap pat dry with clean cotton pad and apply ointment
Be mindful of how you’re sleeping during the healing process, laying on the treatment area can cause friction and remove pigment before it has had time to properly heal. (Suggestion: Prop yourself up with pillows, or use a travel pillow to immobilize the neck)
Wash GENTLY with un-scented antibacterial soap morning and night followed by a firm wipe with the cotton round and ending with a rice grain size of post care ointment. Dial Anti-bacterial hand soap is recommended but any un-scented antibacterial soap will do.

General Notes:
Always wash your hands thoroughly with a disinfectant soap before wiping your treatment area and applying post care cream.
Do NOT saturate the cotton pad with too much water. if there is too much simply ring out the cotton pad prior to wiping the area.
In the morning GENTLY cleanse the lips with un-scented antibacterial soap and lukewarm water. ALWAYS be sure to touch area with CLEAN hands ONLY.
Gently apply a thin layer of post care cream up to 3-4x a day. This should especially be done before bed and after showers, but be sure to use the ointment very sparingly as your skin needs air to heal itself, But you also do not want to allow your lips to dry out. So you need to find a balance of having your lips consistently moisturized, yet not TOO much.
Use a STRAW to drink beverages, this is a MUST!
Avoid any heavy household cleaning that may cause airborne debris that can affect the treatment area.
Be aware that drinking alcohol in excess, leads to slow healing of wounds.
Driving in open air vehicles such as motorcycles, boats, convertibles, bicycles.
Getting the treatment area wet in the shower (please avoid all water on the face while showering) tilt head back when washing hair and keep a try clean cloth at hand to blot face if need be. Keep showers quick and short to avoid steam build up.

Any laser or chemical treatments/facial peels, creams that contain Retin-A or Glycolic Acid on the face or neck. These chemicals/treatments will cause fading of pigment and discoloration
AVOID Picking, peeling, or scratching of the treatment area to avoid scarring and/or removal of pigment. Do not be tempted to peel any dry skin off. You must let it exfoliate on its own.
AVOID touching the treatment area except for when rinsing/washing and applying the post care cream with a cotton swap
If you know you will be traveling immediately after this procedure be sure to grab a bottle of water to bring with you solely for use to wipe the treatment area sanitarily.
Eyelash Extension & Skin Care
Eyelash extensions are semipermanent synthetic lash hairs that are hand-glued on top of your natural lashes
If you choose to maintain your eyelash extensions most clients will need a touch-up either once or twice a month, so every 2-3 weeks. If it is for a one time application the lashes will take anywhere from 4-8 weeks to completely shed. Most clients will opt for a removal services if this is a one time application for a vacation or event.
Unfortunately no, we do not allow guests in the facility for treatments. The space is small and we like to keep the environment calm and relaxing. We ask that all clients come alone to any of their appointments.
Take a look at my eyelash extension portfolio. There are three styles to choose from. Classic, which is a very natural looking lash, Light Volume which is a slightly more fuller/fluffier lash or Mega Volume which is a more dramatic full strip lash look. Book your service for whichever style you like most. Once you’re at your appointment we will asses the health of your natural lashes and the technician will help you determine if the style you’ve chosen is best for the overall health of your lashes.
Please refrain form wearing contacts the day of your lash appointment or fill. Contacts can create an added element of irritation during the lashing process.
